Medication Rules

From our school nurse to all parents:

All medications must have a physician’s order in place here in the health room before a student takes or may be given any medications here at school. This includes cough drops, Advil/Tylenol, etc.

All over the counter medications that are dispensed from the health room need to be brought to the health room in the original, un-opened container. Physician’s order forms may be picked up in the health room. Medication and the physician’s order should be delivered to the school by the parent/guardian.

Students carrying medications must have Physician’s Orders on file in the Health room to carry ANY medication (inhalers, Epipen, etc.) including, Over the Counter medication. The medication that the student may carry needs to be in the original container, and labeled with students name and Physician’s instructions.

We are currently in the process of up-dating our medication records for those students who we know carry medication in an attempt to keep us in compliance. We realize this is a bit disruptive, and want to thank the teachers for working with us to obtain accurate information.
Your Partner in keeping the students healthy, safe, and in the classroom learning.
