Principal's Message

As we move through February and into March, the Cougars will begin the registration process for the 2008-09 school year. This is a very important process for students and parents to be involved in, and there are a number of opportunities for everyone to get more information about courses at CJHS and CHS.

Current 9th Grade students will begin the registration process on February 28th and 29th when High School Guidance Counselors visit all World Studies classes at the Junior High School to explain registration to our students. Next, 9th Grade students and parents are invited to attend Future Viking Night on March 4, 2008 from 6:30 PM-7:30 PM in the Curtis High School Mall.At this event, 9th graders will gather important information to help them make decisions about what classes to take at CHS next year. The registration process will be completed on March 6th and 7th when the CHS Counselors return to collect completed paperwork from our 9th graders.

Current 8th Grade students will begin the registration process on March 4th, when our guidance counselors, Mrs.Artiaga and Ms.Tolan, give presentations to all students in their U.S. History classes about how to register and how to select classes. Next, 8th Grade students and their parents are invited to attend the CJHS Parent Night on March 6th at 6:30 PM in the CJHS Gym. At this event, I will give a short presentation about the classes we offer at 9th grade, and staff will be on hand to answer questions.Completed registration forms will be collected for current 8th graders on March 7th.

Current 7th Grade students at Drum and Narrows View Intermediate will also begin the registration process in the weeks ahead. I will visit both schools with our guidance counselors on March 10th and 11th to give a presentation to students about our school and our programs. We will host a second parent night for incoming 8th grade students on March 13th at 6:30 PM in the CJHS gymnasium to provide additional information.Students will return registration forms by March 14th.

Please contact us if you have any questions about how student registration works at 566-5670 and ask for a CJHS guidance counselor. We look forward to seeing you at our parent nights in the weeks ahead!
