Announcements

Mary Lu Dickinson reported she and Patti Banks attended the joint meeting with the fire department and the City of
University Place. They learned information about the new town center and the library. There will be a public
hearing on the library on November 6, 2006, and on the town center on December 18, 2006. Board members were
invited to attend.

Student Representative Erika Koch said she feels WASL scores, and student learning in general, improve when
students have built a connection with a teacher. "If students feels comfortable, they will learn more," she added.

Paul Koppe asked if there was a "next step" on the boundary review. Superintendent Banks said the district is
waiting for the written Determination of Fact from the hearing before considering any future action.
