and PSAT, SAT or ACT Equivalent (in math only). Other options are available for students receiving special
education.

Andrew Eyres, CHS Assistant Principal, reported on the Spring 2006 WASL results. He said 85.3% of the class of
2008 were meeting the standard in reading, 85.9% in writing, but only 56.3% in math. When scores were received
last June, letters were sent to students who did not pass portions of the test, inviting them to attend the Summer
Academy for assistance. He also reviewed other support offered to students to help them pass the WASL.

Parents were encouraged to stay in touch with their students' teachers and to check grades and attendance on-line.

Comments from the question and answer session included:
*Impressed with leadership at CJH and CHS
*We need to deal with the graduation requirements
*We need summer program offerings for 9th graders
*How about computer-based programs in the summertime?
*Let parents know early about plans for spring/summer offerings
*Will there be a "Study Table" at CHS (like at CJH)?
*Is CHS doing anything about improving attendance? (Attendance is available on-line.)
