Being in Leadership and an ASB officer has helped me be involved with the community.
I'm confident talking with adults and feel I'm more professional. Being the CHS
Daffodil Princess has helped me learn to be accountable.

In 10th and 11th grade teachers tell you to "take notes," but in 12th grade it's the
student's responsibility. The students should have that responsibility earlier.

Extra curricular activities help build the character traits. Sports involve students in the
community.

Sports give back to the community. Students help at camps for kids, are role models for
younger students, and learn to demonstrate good behavior.

While in high school you can be a 6th grade camp counselor. Schools are open to having
high school students work with younger kids. That helps build community.

Music involvement, band and choir, help build character.

ROTC - is new and growing, and it helps build the traits listed.

The biggest thing is parents and teachers who put trust in you and respect you. The ones
who treat you like an adult.

There are teachers who don't expect much from you. Higher expectations are good.
Teacher expectation has a lot to do with your respect, responsibility, and accountability.

Some teachers have bad attitudes and don't expect much or trust you.

If you don't do the work - some teachers care. Students need them to "be on you."
Some teachers let you get by - that's not good. It won't happen in real life. Don't let
project deadlines go by.

Some teachers give homework but don't collect it. That will mess up a students head -
