This year, in an effort to better acommodate transportation for all students, the school day will begin and end 5 minutes later. With the exception of students eating breakfast, all students will be allowed in the building at 8:35, tardy bell will ring at 8:45 and dismissal will be at 3:15 each day.

Also effective this year is a late start schedule for all schools in the University Place district. This is a decision that was agreed upon by district administrators and the UPEA bargaining team in an effort to meet a range of needs across the schools and grade levels.

However, it is not a decision which is by any means final. The late start schedule will be revisited by the district and UPEA bargaining team, as well as including any parents who would like to be involved in the process.

In an effort to meet both the needs of parents and schools, the number of late starts for the 2004-2005 school year has been reduced from 17 to 10. Each late start will occur on a Wednesday and the school day will begin two hours late at 10:45.

• December 1
• January 5
• January 19
• February 2
• February 16
• March 16
• April 6
• May 18
• June 1

Please be aware that a revised district calendar will be mailed to all families after the start of the year.
