UNIVERSITY PLACE PRIMARY STRATEGIC PLAN

Mission:

The Mission of University Place Primary, a nurturing, child-centered school, is to develop successful learners for a changing world by providing high quality education in partnership with our learners, parents, community, and district.

Beliefs:

1. We believe students are our primary focus; therefore, we are child-centered.

2. We believe every student can learn.

3. We believe children learn best when they are educated in partnership with their parents, other students, the community in which they live, and the entire school staff.

5. We believe we must teach and nurture children in a safe, clean, orderly environment.

6. We believe all children come to us with a rich background of cultural heritage.

Goals:

1. To have 100% of our students demonstrate developmentally appropriate proficiencies to meet the Washington State Essential Learning Standards.

2. To have a child-centered, dynamic program that integrates learning, technology, and partnerships.

Strategies to accomplish our goals:

1. We will develop instruction based on assessment of individual student goals and progress aligned with essential learning benchmarks.

2. We will communicate the implementation of the Washington State Essential Learnings and aligned District curriculum to learners, parents, staff, and community.

3. We will develop a system that will communicate student progress at regular intervals in a consistent way.

4. We will continually solicit and maximize internal and external partnership resources to meet the needs of students, staff, parents, and community.
