University Place Primary's

homework reading program

Mustang Minutes of Reading

All families provide 100 minutes of reading a week for our students, outside of school time.

Reading can be aloud, to yourself or someone reading to you at any level K-4th grade.

An 8 x 4 slip is filled out by the student (or family member) to report these 100 minutes.

One student a week from each class is picked to receive a free book. This student must have turned in a slip with 100 or more minutes on it to selected.

We keep track of all minutes and add them up. Our bulletin board in the main hall colors a horse for every 100,000 combined minutes we read as a whole school. Last year: 1,300,000
