Hi! Welcome to Room 205! I am Nancy Johnson, and I will be
your child's second grade teacher this year. I would like to thank you
in advance for sharing your child with me. Since I expect that you are
interested in the person to whom your child will be entrusted for this
school year, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little
about me.
I grew up in University Place and am an alumnus of University Place
Elementary School, Curtis Junior High, and Curtis High School. I
graduated from Pacific
Lutheran University with a B. A. in Education. This is my 25th year as a
teacher, having taught grades 3-12 as a Homebound Teacher for children
with medical problems, Pre-school, Kindergarten, 6th grade, 7th grade,
and 2nd grade for 16 years now. My husband,
Jerry, and
I have two grown daughters, Julie and Erin, and a grandson, Jessiah. We reside
in University Place and enjoy the community and school activities.
As your child's teacher, I will be dedicated to helping your child
reach his/her potential. I believe all children can learn and all
children can
succeed! I will
do everything in my power to make sure your child has a successful, positive
year in my classroom. I will expect the best from your child, behaviorally
and academically, because we can only attain our potential when we do our
best!
Our partnership is essential to your child's success. If they know we talk,
they will know we care. I have already tried to call each of you before
school started
in order to introduce myself. If I missed you, I am sorry. I hope we can
maintain open lines of communication as you are the most important person(s)
in your child's
life, and your support is vital to your child's success in school!
I look forward to working with you and your child! Please do not hesitate
to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns. You can reach
me at 566-5620
ext. 205.
