In order to create a positive learning environment for you child, all students are expected to follow our class rules. The students and I came up with this list in a class meeting.

Class Rules:

Each student has a pocket on our class chart with color cards. All students start with green. Students that follow the rules in the classroom and around the school will remain on green. After earning green for 3 days in a row, students will receive an I Can Manage Myself badge. These badges will be worn throughout the school day. This badge earns them extra privileges and responsibilities. If ICMM students break the rules in the classroom or around the school, they will lose their badge and have to earn it back with 3 more days of green level behavior.

Those students who don't follow the rules will change their cards to yellow = lose 2 minute of recess, pink = lose 4 minutes of recess, orange = lose 6 minutes of recess, red = lose recess and call home, out of colors = lose recess and conference with parents and principal. Each day starts brand new with everyone on green.

If your child is frequently changing his/her cards, I will contact you and ask for your assistance in developing an individual behavior plan so that your child can be successful in school.

Please review your expectations regarding school behavior with your child and make sure they understand the classroom rules. Further discipline procedures are outlined in the student handbook that went home on the first day of school.
