Backpack Program helps provide weekend food.

Do you have enough food over the weekend? Our Backpack Program sends school children home with food for the weekend, and is designed to meet the needs of hungry children at times when other resources are limited. The program is run in conjunction with the Families Unlimited Network’s Food Bank.

Students are provided a backpack each week providing healthy alternatives for breakfast and lunch for the weekend. Please call the counselor at your child’s school for more information about the Backpack Program. All UPSD schools participate in the program.

Interested in donating to Families Unlimited Network?

If you would like to donate to Families Unlimited Network - donations are always welcome! Someone is generally in the office, Monday thru Thursday from 9am to 4pm. Boxed or canned food can be left at our door (address is 2160 Sunset Drive West). If you have perishable items, it is best to call ahead or come Tuesday morning or during food bank hours. Other donation sites include the West Pierce Fire & Rescue’s stations on Drexler Avenue or 40th Street West, University Place Presbyterian Church and Olympic View Baptist Church.
