"Drug Awareness & Recognition"

There are many types of illicit drugs in our community and county. It would be impractical to include them all within these pages. Instead, what we have done is list some of the more common drugs and some places to obtain more information about them. If you have specific questions which are not answered here, please contact us and we will try to assist you or direct you to someone who may have the information you desire.

Marijuana

One of the most communally abused illicit drugs in our society. Often manufactured in our county. This section may help you identify abuse, paraphernalia and talk about some of the penalties.

Mushrooms

Pharmaceutical Pills

We list this category as simply "pharmaceutical pills" because they can be anything from Aspirin, to Designer Drugs. Anyone who has looked at a Physicianís Desk Reference has a rough idea of the number of pills on the market. Many are scheduled drugs and if you are in question, your local pharmacist is most likely the best person to ask.

Methamphetamine

Methamphetamine is in an epidemic stage in our county. This is extremely dangerous drug, often a designer drug, and is often manufactured locally. The hazards of use and manufacture are extreme. This section may help you identify abuse, paraphernalia and talk about some of the penalties.

Cocaine

Now commonly replaced by Methamphetamine in our county. An imported drug, which is manufactured overseas, then sold here. This section may help you identify abuse, paraphernalia and talk about some of the penalties.

Heroin

An opiate commonly manufactured overseas and sold in the United States. This drug is present in our community. This section may help you identify abuse, paraphernalia and talk about some of the penalties.

Designer Drugs

These are drugs that are "Designed or Experimental" These drugs are extremely hazardous and are know to paralyze, permanently disable and at times cause death. While this is not their intent, these are drugs in development by persons who are trying to come up with a new high, for a reduced cost. The designers often have little chemical background and rarely try the drugs themselves. Instead, they pass them off under a false name and see what the reaction is. If Russian Roulette is your game, these are your drugs of choice!
