Tips and Troubleshooting

Does not Start

If your computer does not start, check that the computer is plugged into a power source, the power is on and that the cables aren't loose.

No Response

If the mouse or keyboard does not respond, check that the cables are connected correctly.

Save your work frequently!

Rule of thumb is every 10 minutes. Back up all your work your server.

Passwords

Keep track of them in a safe place, away from the computer. Do NOT share passwords with others, especially students!

Problems?

After some personal troubleshooting, if you are truly stumped by a problem, please call Tech Support for HELP (566-5636).

Software Police:

Observe Software Copyright Laws. You should not install anything on your computer for which you personally don't have legal documentation.
