Driver's EducationDrivers education will be an after school program offered throughout the year. Classes are held two days a week for about 8 weeks from 2:15-4:20 and drives will be scheduled accordingly. There are a total of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of driving and observation. Students need to be 15 years of age on the first day of class and do not need to have their permit to sign up. More information on permits can be found by clicking on the session information below. The written final given in class is only for the class and is not the DOL test for getting a license. That written test will need to be completed in order to get their license. Cost of the course is $475. Maximum enrollment for the UPSD Traffic Safety course is 14 students per session and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
In order for a student to be registered for the class they must:
(1) complete the Online Registration (link found on the left hand side under Contents). Registration will open at 7pm on Tuesday, May 29th.
(2) complete payment via check, cash, or money order in the amount of $475.00 payable to Curtis High School to the Student Accounts Office before noon the day following registration. If registration is not completed within 24 hours, the student will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list. The waiting list will be started for this session only.
